Dining Out on Paleo
You are entering into your second weekend, hopefully it will be easier than the first. By now you have washed every pot and pan you have 3 or 4 times over again since you are cooking so much. You might be getting stir crazy and ready to hire a private cook for the rest of the challenge. At some point over the course of the ten weeks you inevitably will end up eating out. This article from The Label Says Paleo gives some “Creative Ordering” ideas when dining out.

Our class president brought homemade cupcakes today. And these are not just any cupcakes. These are glutenous heaven. Mexican chocolate w/ lime buttercream, carrot chai with creme cheese frosting, vanilla mint with chocolate ganache, & s’mores cupcakes -YUM!!! I thought for a moment that this could be my cheat this week. But is a simple moment of pleasure worth it. NO. Wish I had my camera to show you what I am passing up. Staying strong another day.
I know chocolate is forboden in this challenge. What about cocoa powder?
Sam– cocoa is okay, as long as it is not sweetened. So mole sauce is fine, as long as there is no sweetener. Or the fermented chocolate drink of the Aztecs. Seriously though, raw cocoa nibs are a great, totally legit snack and source of awesome fats and it is like a superfood. So nutritious it will give you a buzz.
If you are going out for a “nice” dinner, Cafe Lily in downtown Decatur. I love one dish they have called Pinchitos which is Spanish rubbed lamb tenderloin, haricot verts, and roasted Japanese white sweet potatoes. Totally Paleo and totally awesome. Alhough a person would probably end up drinking wine.
Noodle also has a Thai Beef Salad that is bada$$. Every time I go there someone at the next table asks what I am eating when they see my plate. Only like $9 I think.
Sam – NICE! Way to stick to it!
So, I’ve been REALLY wanting Sour Patch Kids lately.
Shana, ear muffs. Seriously, 1lb bag with some potato chips is my BIGGEST vice when I have to sit and deal with work blowing infront of my face…haven’t caved yet, but did find this:

Stay tuned.
Corrie and I love going to EATS on Ponce. Vegetables are totally vegetarian and the jerk chicken is really good, for Paleo enthusiast – don’t eat the skin. Best value in town.
